Objectives

We can see that the lockdown is causing many of our families immense stress.  The last few weeks we have held a live webinars about Home Education, Maintaining PACE and Calming the Angry Children. We had an excellent response to this and therefore we have decided to make this a regular weekly event giving parents an opportunity to get advice from Jane Mitchell about the most pressing issues.

Do you have a powerpoint for a young person to explain the siblings agressive behaviour when they are both adopted and she can't understand why they had the same birth parent and foster family and adopted family but she is not behaving like that.

Great advice that i can still use after lockdown when my child struggles with his anger and anxiety around the virus and the changes that are occuring due to it. Thank you Jane and Rosie!

This video felt more like a Q and A session about Covid-related behaviour. It felt unstructured and there was no flow because every question and comment had to be acknowledged. This is fine for a live Q and A, but it isn't a webinar as the course indicates and makes it hard to follow. The whole thing felt dominated by Covid, and whilst we appreciate it's a hot topic, it's not the source of every single behaviour. Please invest in a photography lamp/umbrella combo. They cost £20 on amazon and are a great investment for anyone regularly hosting video training or meetings. It's very distracting and uncomfortable to try to follow these webinars, when there is a glaring light obscuring the screen and the speaker.

Very useful information on how calm an angry child.

It was helpful to hear how a lot of things we have done during lockdown ie timetable, nature walks, cooking have been the right way to go rather than worrying and purely focusing on h/w. A lot of helpful advice on how to talk to and calm an angry child. Nice to know I should not feel guilty about taking some me time!
